Where is the line in trying to witness about your faith? When dealing with federal laws you can be somewhat restricted but in google I found this information.
“Under U.S. law, your right to share your faith is protected, but employers can place restrictions to maintain a productive, harassment-free workplace. You may discuss faith during breaks or non-work hours, but your employer can stop you if it interferes with work duties, creates a hostile environment, or targets unwilling coworkers.”
Under U.S. Law you are protected. It is dictated by how receptive the people you witness to are. Look at this scripture from 1 Peter 3:15.
15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
And then what your employer will allow. You can do it on company property but need to restrict it to breaks, lunches or non-work time. Of course, to share your faith you need to just broach the topic and see if there is some interest expressed. And then even outside of work it is a similar approach. People have no idea what they are missing, if they haven’t been familiarized with the message. When you are a kid, your parents attempt to get you to try many different things and see what appeals to you. You try everything from baseball, to soccer, dancing, math club all the way to vegetables.
However, the word of God is so much more important than your extra-curricular activities or diet. Once someone expresses interest, it can become the most defining moment of their life. You could become the catalyst that puts them on the path to accepting Christ and having the opportunity to have eternity in his heavenly home. Can you imagine a more important mission? Even if all of your efforts result in one being saved-you have accomplished a tremendous goal for the kingdom. Don’t sell yourself short. Check out Colossians 4:5-6.
5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
You need to put on the true armor of God. Being versed in scripture and your bible will help to reduce any anxiety with connecting to seekers. As the scripture states-make your works full of grace and salt. Work to give the true essence of your faith to each person. Do not be discouraged with any of your efforts. Your true job is to plant seeds and water them as best you can. The effort you put forth may take time to cultivate and blossom in the other person. But as Paul states you need perseverance for the race. Check out 2 Timothy 4:7.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
We are all anointed as disciples of Christ to finish the race in evangelizing his message to the world. This should extinguish any anxiety or frustration you may have in sharing his truths. Let the holy spirit fill you with his grace and push you forth to complete his mission. If you would like to see as many as possible reach the pearly gates, you should finish the mission. Let the fire that burns in you ignite the seeker you are talking to. This is called “The Greatest Story Ever Told”, so take that excitement to the world and show them his glory through your eyes. We can’t all be like Paul who went through more adversity than a human should have to endure. Check out Acts 14:19-20.
19 Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. 20 But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
Can you imagine being stoned and left for dead? He was proclaiming Jesus to a crowd and they rejected and almost killed him. You don’t think that’s someone you want on your team? Paul was the ultimate advocate and defender of the word. If someone like him can give all himself to the mission, surely you can give a part of yourself to share the gospel with someone that needs your message to turn them around. And can be a part of saving them from eternal damnation. The only anxiety someone could have is thinking “Could I have done more for that person?”
